From  11 to 25 November, SPbGASU, together with Kazan Federal University, is holding the All-Russian English Language Dictation. The dictation will also be held at more than 500 higher, secondary vocational, and general education institutions. Anyone can participate.

In 2024, more than 34,000 students from 67 regions of Russia and foreign countries joined the dictation.

The dictation is being held for the tenth time at the initiative of the Institute of International Relations, History, and Oriental Studies of Kazan Federal University, jointly with the KFU Department of Youth Policy. The main goals of the event are to motivate students to study foreign languages, improve literacy, and improve their proficiency in foreign languages.

The dictation, consisting of 300-400 words (14-22 sentences), will last approximately 30 minutes. Participants are prohibited from bringing reference materials, written notes, or other means of storing or transmitting information.

The results will be announced after 7 December and will be published on the Kazan Federal University website and on the official websites of the participating organizations. Winners and runners-up will receive electronic diplomas, while all others will receive electronic certificates of participation.

In 2025, the dictation will be an important part of the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The text will be based on the personal memoirs of a distinguished graduate and professor of Kazan University about the war and post-war period. The dictation text was prepared by teachers from the Institute of International Relations, History, and Oriental Studies at Kazan Federal University.
