All-Russian competition "Inventor of the Year"

The All-Russian "Inventor of the Year" competition has been held annually since 2023. The project is being implemented at the initiative of Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the All-Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, jointly with the public organization "All-Russian Society of Inventors and Innovators," with the support of the National Research University "MPEI."

The goal of the competition is to popularize the achievements of domestic innovators whose developments have a high economic or social impact and are aimed at ensuring the technological sovereignty and leadership of the Russian Federation.

Deadlines:

  • Application deadline: 30 September, 2026.

  • Award ceremony: November 2026 (Moscow).

Nominations and industry areas: Winners are determined in four main nominations: Grand Prix, Inventor of the Year, Innovator of the Year, and Mentor of the Year.

The “Inventor of the Year” nomination presents nine areas that correspond to the priorities of national technological leadership projects:

  • Development of space technologies;

  • Production and automation equipment;

  • Industrial support for transport mobility;

  • New materials and chemistry;

  • Technological support for food security;

  • Unmanned aerial systems;

  • New nuclear and energy technologies;

  • New health-preserving technologies;

  • New bioeconomic technologies.

The competition is open to inventors and innovators of all ages (scientists, engineers, graduate students, undergraduates, and schoolchildren). This year, the competition has acquired international status: both citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens holding patents valid in Russia can apply.

Based on the results of the competition, 61 winners and runners-up will be determined.

  • Main Prize (Grand Prix): 1 000 000 rubles.

  • Winners in other categories: 200 000 rubles.
