10th practical conference “Development of the construction complex of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region” was held on March, 20 in Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering. Traditionally it is organized by the Council of engineering unions and organizations. This is a biggest public organization of engineers in the North-western region. Director of the Council is Marat M. Oganesian, vice-governor of Saint Petersburg responsible for issues of construction and reconstruction of real estate objects, architecture and urban design.
The conference “Development of the construction complex of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region” was held with the support of the representatives of Saint Petersburg government and the Russian Union of engineers.
Vice-rector for academic activity of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering Irina R. Lugovskaya greeted guests of the university and participants of the conference. In her speech she paid peculiar attention to importance of holding the conference in the oldest engineering higher educational institution of Russia where many outstanding architects, engineers of Saint Petersburg, Russia and the world came from. She also expressed confidence in that the university will unite specialists who will be able to find most effective methods of solving tasks construction industry faces today.
One of the most interesting reports was the report by vice-president of the Russian Council of engineers Sergey N. Kuchikhin. In his report he studied development of the construction industry today and analyzed problems in production and application of building materials. Repot made by chairperson of Saint Petersburg Committee for construction Mikhail V. Demidenko devoted to investigation of future development of urban design and engineering activity in Saint Petersburg.
Participants of the conference also discussed such topics as development of the residential engineering in Leningrad region, creation and functioning of the All-Russian single information system “Unified list of developers”, state and non-state control of construction quality, future opportunities in development of construction industry and peculiarities of sing Federal law № 44 “About the contract system in purchasing goods, services for support of state and municipal needs”, state of specialized education and personnel training.
At the result of the conference there was accepted a resolution which gathered views of the professional society upon contemporary development of construction industry in Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region. Resolution project will be adopted with changes reflecting point of view of engineers and later it will be transferred to the authorities of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region.
