Art is life and life is art

On May 14, 2015 at student reading hall of the Fundamental library of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering there was opened an exhibition of art works of postgraduate student of the Chair of History and Theory of Architecture Su Wei (painting-drawing-sketch). At the same time there was opened a book exhibition which is aimed at introduction of books about Chinese art and architecture to visitors.

In her greeting speech director of the library Irina I. German expressed her admiration of phenomenal industriousness of the author. In turn the post-graduate student from China thanked the library and the higher education institution for the support and the opportunity to present his works.

Head of the Chair of Drawing Gennady E. Rusanov mentioned about a certain dynamics in organization of similar exhibitions. “It has become a tradition which needs to be encouraged and developed”, - said Gennady E. Rusanov.

Works of the Chinese craftsman impressed visitors by their literalism and subtility, perception of nature as a whole, perception of architecture and a people. One can find a peculiar view of the world characteristic of the Eastern art, where everything is in absolute balance and harmony.

All visitors could autograph by using bright multicolored highlighters in a special album. On this day Mr. Wei heard a lot of warm words and wishes of further success both in art and life.

As one of the visitors said, life is art and art is life.
