15 Feb

On 15 February, our country celebrates the Day of Remembrance of Russians who performed their duty outside the Fatherland. It was on this day, 15 February, 1989, that the last column of Soviet troops left the territory of Afghanistan.

The memorial date is addressed not only to Afghan veterans, but also to other Soviet and Russian military personnel who fought in various “hot spots.” To everyone who showed dedication, honor, valor, and devotion to the Motherland in the incredibly difficult conditions of combat life.

These warriors have become an example for the younger generation. Memorials, monuments and statues with the names of fallen heroes have been installed in our country and abroad. In honor of this date, solemn and memorable events, rallies and actions are held annually.
