Graduates of SPbGASU received recognition at the International Festival of Eurasian Architectural, Construction and Design Schools
The 9th International Festival of Architectural, Civil Engineering and Design Schools of Eurasia was held in Uzbekistan. This year, 80 universities from 17 countries of Eurasia participated in the festival.

A distinctive feature of this festival was the three venues where it was taking place:
- in Tashkent, on the basis of the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering
- in Samarkand, on the basis of the Samarkand Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering
- in Bukhara, on the basis of the Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute.
The organizer and ideological inspirer of the festival was the Kazakh Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering; the co-organizers were the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World, the Romualdo del Bianco Foundation, and the TURKSOY international organization.
University participation details
At the festival, SPbGASU was represented by the head of the Department of Urban Planning, Professor Yulia S. Yankovskaya, Doctor of Architecture; Associate Professor of the Department of Architectural and Urban Heritage Elena N. Baulina and Associate Professor of the Department of Architectural Design Alexei V. Mikhalychev.
Within the framework of the festival program, an international review competition of graduation works took place in the nominations “Architecture”, “Design”, “Civil Engineering”, “Production of Building Materials, Products and Structures”, “Engineering Systems and Networks”, “Transport Construction”, “Surveying and Cartography ”and“ Cadastre and Land Management”.
As a whole, 534 graduate works of Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree students from 52 universities of 11 countries were presented at the competition. The festival competition commission included representatives of 43 universities of various countries.
SPbGASU submitted to the competition 27 final qualifying works of Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree students. The university’s graduates showed a high level of training: 11 works were included in the list of laureates and awarded with three diplomas of the 1st degree, four diplomas of the 2nd degree and four diplomas of the 3rd degree.
Representatives of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture took active part in the work of the jury subject commissions in the field of "Architecture" ("Architecture of Residential Buildings" - A.V. Mikhalychev, "Reconstruction and restoration" - E.N.Baulina, "Master" - Yu.S. Yankovskaya).
