Henan University Rector Became SPbGASU Honorary Doctorate
On April 25, 2019, Wang Zhaodong, Rector of Henan University of Urban Construction (HUUC, Pingdingshan, China) received an Honorary Doctorate degree at Academic Council meeting at SPbGASU. He was introduced by Aleksandr Panin, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
Wang Zhaodong is an urbanist, Doctor of Science, Professor, and author of numerous scientific articles and books. He graduated from Tianjin University in 1983 and received diplomas in Water Supply and Sanintation, and Urban Planning. He became Rector of HUUC in 2015, and was elected Popular Representative at People's Congress of Henan
His major scientific projects are:
- Natural attractions general lay-out at Xiaolangdi reservoir at the Yellow River, Henan,
- Gore-tex membrane and its use in salt brine cleaning for high-purity industrial salt production,
- Water disposal system design in Xinyang, Henan.
SPbGASU Academic Council awarded Wang Zhaodong Honorary Doctorate degree for his major contribution to urban and rural planning, water supply and sanitation, and strengthening of international scientific and educational relationships between Russia and China.
Wang Zhaodong: ‘I am ready to work on cooperation between SPbGASU and HUUC’
He answered ‘yes’ in Russian to the three questions about international friendship and values of peace, helping young talents to achieve their scientific goals and his free-will to receive SPbGASU Honorary Doctorate degree. Wang Zhaodong thanked SPbGASU Academic Council for such an honour and mentioned that this degree brought his career to the next level.
