January, 27 is Leningrad Victory day! We are inviting all students, professors and employees of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering to the events marking the 70-year anniversary of Leningrad release from fascist blocka

We are inviting students, professors and employees of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering to the events marking the 70-year anniversary of Leningrad release fr om fascist blockade. The programme of events will start with the campaign “900 days” which will be held at Nevsky prospect and Dvortsovaya square. In commemoration of the heroism of citizens and soldiers defending the city during the Great Patriotic War Saint Petersburg citizens will create a lining memorial. At 19:00 p.m. at nevsky prospect there will be lightened thousands of candles. Participants of the campaign will have a walk from Malaya Sadovaya street to Dvortsovaya square with the burning candles in their hands wh ere they will form a gigantic phrase “900 days”. The lining memorial will be created by 1944 volunteers, but everyone can to take part in the campaign. At 18:00 p.m. volunteers will give Ribbons of Leningrad Victory to everyone near the exits fr om subway station “Nevsky prospect”. The ribbons will be made in the same olive-green colours as suspension devices in medals “For defense of Leningrad”.

After the minute of silence at Dvortsovaya square there will start a youth campaign “Undefeated Leningrad”. Next to Alexandrinsky column there will created an atmosphere of life similar to Leningrad blockade period. At Dvortsovaya square there will be displayed over 20 thousand pieces of military transport means, artillery devices and anti-tank barriers used during the Great Patriotic War. Close to the Headquarters arch at 19:00 p.m. there will start working installation place “Children of blockade Leningrad” wh ere young citizens will have a chance to learn about the everyday life of their counterparts who found themselves in the sieged city. Citizens and guests of Saint Petersburg will have a chance to feel the atmosphere of that January day of 1944. At the posts situated at Dvortsovaya square art groups will sign songs of war period. Among military transport means, anti-tank barriers visitors will be able to listen to songs accompanied by accordion, flash-mobs, reciting poems and pair dances.  

An outstanding 3D event created on the basis of stock footage presented at the facade of the Headquarters will move Saint Petersburg citizens to sieged war-time Leningrad. The audience will see pictures and stock footage of air-raid warning, air bombing, battles for the release of the city, people crying of happiness, people who finally met that day. These episodes depicting the great heroism of our compatriots, relatives and close people, grandfathers and grandmothers who went all out to protect the city and our future will not leave anyone indifferent.    

We are inviting students to take part in the organized holiday events as this day is similarly important for the people who still remember about those difficult blockade days and for the young people as well.
