On March, 19 students of group SD-4 visited Nikolsky brick factory which is a part of “LSR” group of companies. Today this factory is considered the most equipped and automated enterprise producing building ceramics in the North-western region.

Students had a chance to watch two lines of German production. One line is focused on production of aerated ceramics, pores being formed due to burning of filings added to clay charge material. The other line is used for production of ceramic clinker – a high-strength material of minimum water absorption used for paving and blockwork. With the application of quickly removable heads production lines can be reconstructed for production of building materials of various forms and size in minimum terms.

Students were very impressed by the factory; students expressed interest in production technologies, various technological shades and looked at the facilities which they could see only in pictures and when working upon their course projects. A lot of students said they wanted to undergo production practical training at the factory.
