1 July

Every year on 1 July, Russia celebrates a professional holiday for restoration specialists. It was established in 2006 on the anniversary of the founding of the legendary Leningrad Architectural Restoration Workshops, which restored many monuments in the city on the Neva and its suburbs that had seemed lost during the war.

Today, the SPbGASU Department of Architectural and Urban-Planning Heritage is one of the recognized centers for training specialists in this field and for scientific research on the preservation of historical and cultural monuments. Our teachers, students, and graduates have completed numerous complex projects and developed new technologies for the restoration industry. The University operates the corporate department of KGIOP for restoration and renovation of architectural heritage. In addition, starting this year, the SPbGASU Faculty of Civil Engineering will begin training restoration engineers.

We congratulate everyone involved in this noble endeavor on Restorer's Day—a holiday honoring those who carefully preserve and bring back to life priceless architectural and cultural heritage. May each restored object become a bridge between the past and the future, telling its own unique story. We wish you inspiration, patience, and continued creative success!
