Today within Saint Petersburg educational forum “Scarlet sails” – 2014 there was opened the annual exhibition “Education and carrier” which celebrates the 10^th year anniversary this year.

In the opening ceremony there took part governor of Saint Petersburg G.S. Poltavchenko; vice-governor of Saint Petersburg V.N. Kichegi; deputy minister of education and science of the Russian Federation A.A. Klimov; vice-chairperson of the Federation council committee on science and education, culture and information politics L.N. Glebov; chairperson of the Committee on science and higher school of Saint Petersburg Government A.S. Maksimov; chairperson of the Council of rectors of Saint Petersburg higher educational institutions V.N. Vasiliev and others.

Governor of Saint Petersburg G.S. Poltavchenko congratulated organizers, participants and guest of the exhibition and forum on opening the event. As Saint Petersburg governor said professional education becomes more solicited not only in our city but also all over Russia. He wished success and fruitful activity to all participants of the exhibition and forum.

As chairperson of the Committee on science and higher school of Saint Petersburg Government A.S. Maksimov said, Saint Petersburg is a well-recognized centre of science, education, and culture of Russia: “Our city is famous for its unique traditions and achievements, among which education of high quality was always among the prior ones”. He also said that students from various regions of Russia and foreign countries arrive at Saint Petersburg to study. Diplomas given by Saint Petersburg higher educational institutions and colleges are of high value in Russia and mark a high quality of education each graduate received.

After the opening ceremony G.S. Poltavchenko went over the exhibition and firstly visited the exhibit of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering where all faculties of the university were presented. 

Exhibition “Education and career” is a place where school leavers and their parents have a chance to acquire a large volume of information about educational institutions, make a choice regarding future profession and place of studying. At the exhibition over 200 educational institutions are presented both from Russia and abroad.

The exhibition will be open for visitors on April, 18-19.
