On 21st March, 2018 a next session of Guild of journalists working in the sphere of architecture, building and cultural heritage preservation took place at the St.-Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering. Among participants there were representatives of the city printing and Internet editions, heads of press-services of profile committees, building companies, museums.
«This meeting in SPSUACE is very important for us. We are very grateful to the University management for its organization», - the chairman of the Guild, the trustee of the Union of journalists of St.-Petersburg and Leningrad region, publisher, editor-in-chief of the magazine «Address of Petersburg», graduate of SPSUACE in 1986 S.S.Yaroshetsky said in his performance.
The aspiration of the Guild to interaction with SPSUACE is firstly caused by its problems which include increase of competence of employees of editions and press-services in questions of architecture, building and architecture history, and also vocational guidance at choosing journalism or public relations as the basic profession.
On behalf of the rector of SPSUACE E.I.Rybnov participants of the meeting were welcomed by the pro-rector on external relations and youth policy I J.Lapina. An academic secretary of the Academic council I.V. Drozdova made a report «SPSUACE today». The high school was represented by deans, heads of structural divisions and departments.
The participants of the meeting discussed possible variants of vocational training of journalists wishing to understand better architecture and building problems, and carrying out classes with the future architects and builders who will contact to the press and media in their work. Within the limits of the meeting there was held a practical study on the copyright. Visitors had a press round in the University, visited opening BIM-Championship on information modelling of buildings.
The Guild of journalists working in the sphere of architecture, building and cultural heritage preservation, was formed by the decision of the board of the Union of journalists of St.-Petersburg and Leningrad region in 2017. One of the Guild overall objectives is improvement of professional skill of the journalists writing about architecture, building and cultural heritage preservation.
