SPbGASU Architecture Students Won Prizes at ARCH'Pacific 2021 International Forum

SPbGASU students’ projects were noted at the ARCH'Pacific 2021 International Youth Forum of Architecture and Design, held in Vladivostok on April 12-23.

The forum was organized by the Far Eastern Federal University, the Primorsky Krai Administration, the Union of Architects of Russia and the Far Eastern branch of RAACS, and brought together Architecture students from Russia, China, Japan and South Korea.

The ‘Parallels 2021’ international exhibition and contest took place within the framework of the forum, where best student works (by Bachelor’s, Master’s and Specialist degree students) were presented in the sections “Architecture” and “Design of the Architectural Environment”. Projects performed by students of the SPbGASU Department of Urban Planning were recognized among the best and won prizes.

✔ The Grand Prix in the category “Design of the Architectural Environment” was awarded to the project entitled "Renovation of Porokhovye municipal district” carried out by SPbGASU fifth-year students Arina Demchak, Ekaterina Kovaleva and Marianna Mikheeva under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Urban Planning Maria Skopina.

✔ 1st degree diploma was awarded to the second-year student Sergey Rogulev’s project on complex development of the recreational area with a playground around the former Shoreditch underground station in London, Great Britain. The student work was supervised by Head of the Department of Urban Planning Yulia Yankovskaya, Doctor of Architecture, and Associate Professors Maria Skopina and Maria Lushnikova.

✔ Second-year student Vasilisa Polekhina presented another project for London’s Shoreditch area development. It was also prepared under the supervision of Yulia Yankovskaya, Maria Skopina and Maria Lushnikova, and was awarded a 2nddegree diploma.

✔ 3rd degree diplomas were awarded to projects on Shoreditch square development performed by second-year students Victoria Ivanova and Lyubov Shcheglova under the guidance of the same teachers.

✔ Third-year student Vasily Matovnikov’s project “New Ingermanlandia. A settlement for 2,000 inhabitants", carried out under the guidance of Andrey Vaitens, Professor of the Department of Urban Planning, Associate Professor Pavel Skryabin and the Department’s assistant Victoria Museeva, was awarded a 2nd degree diploma in the ‘Architecture’ category.
