On September 6, the exhibition “Architect Marian Peretyatkovich: choosing your path. To the 150th anniversary" opened at the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

The exhibition is part of the program of the Year of Marian Peretyatkovich, announced in January 2022 by the Polish Institute in St Petersburg. SPbGASU acted as a strategic partner of the project. The curator of the exhibition and the head of the organizing committee of the Year of M. M. Peretyatkovich is Svetlana Levoshko, associate professor at the department of urban planning. The design of the exhibition was developed by Anastasia Nalizko, a 2022 SPbGASU master's degree graduate.

The guests of the exposition are SPbGASU students, teachers and representatives of one of the project partners – the Leningrad Regional Universal Scientific Library (located in a building designed by architect M. M. Peretyakovich, on Kirillovskaya st., 19).

The project partners are also the Society of Russian-Polish friendship in St Petersburg, the St Petersburg Roman Catholic Church of the Mother of God of Lourdes (Kovensky per., 7, built according to the project of M. Alyona Volokhova, senior lecturer at the St Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry named after A. L. Stieglitz, 2022 master's degree SPbGASU graduate spoke about her final qualifying work "Creative Heritage of Architect M. M. Peretyakovich", supervised by Nina Petukhova, associate professor at the SPbGASU department of architectural and urban planning heritage.

“Marian Peretyatkovich is a unique personality, which, I hope, I will have to understand better. But even now I would like to note that, first of all, he thought about people who would use the building. He was devoted to his profession, the cause of life, chosen not immediately. He worked endlessly, as evidenced by his numerous implemented and competitive projects for St Petersburg, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Pyatigorsk, Moscow and Pskov regions, as well as active participation in public organizations related to the architectural field, ”said Alyona Volokhova during the tour.

The exhibition will run at SPbGASU until October 6 at the address: 4, Vtoraya Krasnoarmeiskaya st., exhibition hall of the faculty of architecture. In the future, the exposition will be hosted by the partners of the project. The program of the Year of M. M. Peretyatkovich in St Petersburg also includes a round table (October 28, the hall of the Wawelberg hotel), excursions to objects created by the architect, lectures at the Polish Institute and the Library after V. V. Mayakovsky.

Marian Marianovich Peretyatkovich was born on 4 September, 1872. In 1896 he became a student at the Civil Engineering Institute. After graduating from the CEI in 1901, he continued his education at the Higher Art School of the Academy of Arts. In November 1906 he received the title of architect-artist.

Among the works of the architect in St Petersburg are the Insurance company Salamandra apartment building (Gorokhovaya st., 4), the Catholic church at Kovensky Lane, the City services building at 49, Kronverksky Prospekt, the  Wawelberg Trading Bank and apartments (7–9, Nevsky Prospekt), the building of the Ministry for Trade and Industry (8, Makarova Embankment).
