Students discussed moral education at the Youth House

At the round table held at the Youth House, matters of spiritual and moral education in the universities of St. Petersburg were in the focus of the discussion. SPbGASU representatives, specialist of the Department of Social and Extracurricular Work with students Yulia Romanova and members of the Student Council Natalya Postavyenskaya and Vladislav Tikkoyev attended the event.

✔ The round table participants discussed current topics and effective forms of spiritual and moral enlightenment of students. The participants agreed that to the moral development of young people contribute such activities as 

  • volunteer projects
  • scientific seminars and lectures in small groups
  • patriotic events.

Representatives of the #Life Youth Community Alexei Kochkin and Anastasia Gerasimova talked about the trends in the youth environment and how to use those for educational purposes. Archpriest Konstantin Golovatsky, Chairman of the Department of Youth Affairs of the St. Petersburg Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, outlined the main tasks of spiritual and educational work with young people, and Natalya Reginskaya, head of the Department of Fine Arts of the RSHMU Polar Academy, presented the “Heroic Faces of Holy Russia” educational and arts project.

“It is very important that attention is paid to this topic. There have been many proposals regarding the spiritual and moral enlightenment of young people, and they should be considered. We definitely will use interesting offers in working with students at SPbGASU,” Yulia Romanova shared her impressions.

“Spiritual and moral education contributes to the formation of a full-fledged personality, the life goals and value orientations. This is a very important topic,” said Natalya Postavyenskaya.

In addition to the St. Petersburg Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Association for the Promotion of Spiritual and Moral Education "Pokrov", representatives of 15 higher educational institutions of the city participated in the discussion.
