On May, 15 on the basis of the Non-commercial partnership “Union of Saint Petersburg engineers” there was held a workshop “Innovations in engineering at the example of heat recovery” for students of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering. The workshop was held by vice-director on development and director of the engineering department of NCC Residential construction (Russia) Alexander Boitzov.
During the workshop Mr. Boitzov told students about modern ventilation: its types, peculiarities, advantages and disadvantages of its various types, as well as new technologies applied in Europe and Russia. During the workshop there were illustrated unique and detailed materials.
Particular attention was paid to norms and regulations in engineering design, structures and exploitation of ventilation systems at various real estate objects. Students were interested in comparative analysis of Russian and Finnish approaches to normative and regulatory support of engineering design of ventilation services.
Most examples were given with a sense of humor and were understandable for students, so it was easier for students to understand and learn the provided information and imagine the new engineering solutions.
Modern energy saving technologies of heat recovery which are used during erection of buildings by NNC Company also attracted much attention. Their efficiency and commodity in exploitation were illustrated by the feedback of real estate buyers gathered by employees of the company and by their own experience of exploitation of similar systems.
As during this semester the course of workshops and tours to the objects provoked much interest of students there was made a decision to hold these workshops permanently and attract new specialists of the engineering industry with the assistance of the Non-commercial partnership “Union of Saint Petersburg engineers”.
This workshop continued the series of workshops organized for students of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering during the semester as a part of the work of the fundamental Chair of Management in engineering of the Faculty of Economics and Management.
