Students from the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering won and placed first in the VIII All-Russian Internet Olympiad in a set of graphics disciplines, which was hosted by the Siberian State Transport University for first- and second-year students. The Olympiad, held remotely, brought together participants from dozens of higher education institutions across the country.
The Olympiad is held to develop students' engineering and graphics training, increase interest in modern design and modeling technologies, and identify talented young people in the field of engineering and computer graphics.
Participants completed tasks in four categories: "CAD Sprinter," "3D Master," "Super Engineer," and "Super Visual." The competition tasks required students to demonstrate a high level of preparation, proficiency in modern CAD systems, engineering drawing skills, 2D and 3D modeling, and developed spatial thinking. Depending on the category, participants created geometric constructions, modeled parts and objects, analyzed engineering drawings, and solved problems determining the visibility of structural elements.
SPbGASU's first-year students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering participated in the competition, representing the university with distinction and achieving high results in several categories.
The "Super Engineer" category, which focused on engineering graphics and 3D modeling of parts based on drawings, was particularly successful. Saida Zankishyeva won with a maximum score of 100 points, while Ilya Kornakov took third place with 94 points.
In the "CAD Sprinter" category, first-year student Anastasia Sharagina of the same faculty placed third with a score of 96 points.
Also, Maria Fonareva, Irina Ershova and Aleksandra Kuznetsova received incentive diplomas for participation in the Olympiad.
We congratulate the students and teachers on their successful performance at the All-Russian Olympiad and wish them continued success!
