This season, students from our university—members of the International Student Construction Squad "Wheel of Fortune" based at SPbGASU—have once again joined international student construction squads that will work at international sites being built by the Rosatom State Corporation. Members of the SPbGASU squad traveled to the construction sites of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (Turkey, International Student Construction Squad "Bosphorus"), El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant (Egypt, ISCS "Oasis"), and Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (Bangladesh, ISCS "Lotus").

The ISCS projects are implemented with the support of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom and the All-Russian Youth Public Organization "Russian Student Squads".

On 5 July, the ceremonial opening of the eighth work season of the International Student Construction Squad "Bosphorus" took place at the construction site of Turkey's first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu. The project is organized by the All-Russian Youth Public Organization "Russian Student Squads" and JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, which is hosting the team for the sixth time. The project kicked off in the year declared the Year of Atomic Energy in the Republic of Turkey and is timed to coincide with a key construction milestone: the technical launch of the first power unit of the Akkuyu NPP.

"We see you as fully-fledged employees. Our main goal is to introduce you to real-life production, spark your interest in the profession, and provide a foundation for a professional start. Don't be shy about asking questions; explore what interests you, because this is what builds a passion for the profession and leads to the greatest productivity. The students from the student squads have been part of this facility's history and left a lasting mark," noted Evgeny Yatsenko, CEO of TSM Enerji (part of CONCERN TITAN-2), speaking at the opening.

Following the work semester, the organizing companies conduct individual interviews with students and provide employment guarantees to those who demonstrate high professional skills.

The Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering has a rich tradition of student squad movement, which provides students with labor education and hands-on experience in the workplace. Currently, the SPbGASU Student Squads Headquarters comprises nine teams, including four construction squads. In addition, SPbGASU is home to the "Wheel of Fortune" and "Lastochka" (swallow) squads of the "Nevsky Troops" Youth Patriotic Action.
