Valery Falkov appointed to the post of Minister of Science and Higher Education

President V. Putin signed an Order of Designation of Valery Falkov to the position of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The new head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science was born in Tyumen in 1978. In 2000, he graduated from the Institute of State and Law of Tyumen State University with a degree in jurisprudence. For nine years, Valery Falkov, Candidate of Juridical Sciences, worked in various positions at Tyumen State University and became its rector in 2012.

At various times, he served as a member of the Election Commission of the Tyumen Region with a casting vote; Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Tyumen Region; Deputy of the Tyumen City Duma (elected Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Urban Planning and Land Matters); Deputy of the Tyumen Regional Duma (Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy); he also headed the Council of Rectors of the Tyumen region.

Valery Falkov is holder of the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation (2003); the Badge of Honor of the Tyumen Regional Duma (2009); Certificate of Honor of the Governor of the Tyumen Region (2013); Diploma of the State Duma (2014); Letter of Recognition from the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the RF President in the Ural Federal District (2015); Letter of Recognition from the Chairman of the Federation Council (2017).
