A graduate of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture, a student of the SPbGASU Faculty of Continuing Education Aleksandra Polyanskaya and a master's student of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture Ksenia Rudenko reached the final of the National Open Championship of Creative Competencies for specialists in the field of creative industries ArtMasters and visited Sakhalin among the finalists. The program of the stay included meetings with the Governor and Minister of Architecture and Urban Development of the Sakhalin Region and the defense of competition projects.
To recall, the championship is held with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow in order to identify talented young specialists and create opportunities for their professional growth.
The sixth season of the ArtMasters Championship was attended by 30 thousand participants from all regions of Russia and 51 countries. The prize fund for the current season was 36 million rubles. In the main age category, individual competitions were held in 20 competencies. Aleksandra Polyanskaya and Ksenia Rudenko participated in the "Architectural Environment Designer" category.
"The championship required us to design a public space. I proposed a design for a landmark (an architectural dominant) in the form of a frozen wave - a symbol of the meeting of the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk. The object emphasizes the natural landscape, unites both competition territories, serves as a navigation point for tourists and is easily scalable for small architectural forms, while being designed for long-term use in the harsh climatic conditions of Sakhalin. And the form itself originates in one territory and continues in another, forming a kind of "The Two Seas Gate," Aleksandra explained.
Ksenia Rudenko developed a conceptual art object with a landmark function and a public transport stop, inspired by the nature and history of Korsakov. “The art object is harmoniously integrated into the landscape, emphasizing the uniqueness of the region and its cultural heritage. It includes five sculptural elements symbolizing the power of the ocean and the economic basis of the region - fishing. Interactive LED monitors provide information about attractions and cultural events, making the object useful for both locals and tourists. Situated on a hill, the object serves as a vantage point and navigational landmark, inviting everyone to discover the heart of Sakhalin. It not only decorates the space, but also tells the history of the region through nature, culture and technology, becoming a symbol of Korsakov's hospitality,” Ksenia said.
The winners of the championship will be determined by the results of the audience vote. From 10 to 20 September, you can vote for Aleksandra Polyanskaya and Ksenia Rudenko.
