Through the agreement signed between Noncommercial partnership “Union of Saint Petersburg engineers” and Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering regarding the fundamental chair for students of the Faculty of Economics and Management on April 1, 2015 there was held one more workshop in issues concerning insurance in engineering.

The workshop started with the report made by the head of the engineering insurance department of Saint Petersburg branch of “VSK Insurance house” Alexey A. Zhmachenko.

Mr. Zhmachenko started his report by saying that he also graduated from Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering and he got most interesting experience and career prospects in insurance with an opportunity to use his knowledge of engineering. Later he told about the peculiarities of engineering objects under insurance and paid attention to their differences at various stages of the life-cycle. In his report he gave definitions to most difficult terms and answered the questions which arouse during the report. At the end of the workshop Alxey A. wished students to find their way in profession and to have a wider view of self-realization possibilities in engineering and not to lose any chance to acquire new knowledge and experience.

During the workshop our students could also talk with Irina I. Belinskaya – managing director of CJSC “Petersburg engineering centre”. Her report was devoted to organization of professional contests and impact of similar competitions on personnel policy development. Ms. Belinskaya invited students to participate in one of the contests of the best site which were scheduled for May, 2015.

It should be reminded here that developing cooperation of SPSUACE and Noncommercial partnership “Union of Saint Petersburg engineers” on the basis of the fundamental chair “Management in engineering” is aimed at practical orientation of the education process. This activity sparked public outcry in the community of professionals. Representatives of leading organizations of the industry expressed their wish to hold workshops and lectures for students on the basis of the chair.
