Gravitation as the Topic for A Diogenes Studio Exam

Diogenes Studio Exam was held as part of Architectural Seasons at SPbGASU. Kimmo Lintula (Aalto University Professor, K2S Architects, Finland) was a supervisor of the exam and he chose gravitation as the event topic.

Kimmo Lintula was the supervisor of Diogenes Studio Exam

Kimmo Lintula: ‘I have chosen gravitation, because it is a common topic for such contests and it is usual among architects to express their thought and ideas abstractedly. We selected several best projects in graphics and gravitation expression’.

As a result, the students from SPbGASU and other universities have made more than 300 projects although there haven’t been more than twenty of them.

Diana Akhmedova, Olesya Zubyuk and Kristina Lagutina have created the best projects which are going to be exhibited in the Hermitage.

Vladimir Frolov, Chief Editor of “Proekt Baltia” magazine: 'Architects often forget about gravitation due to daily routine and digital work process’. He awarded the winners of the Diogenes Studio Exam.

Fedor Perov, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture: ‘The students worked for two hours from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m. All the projects were different though they had the same topic. The Diogenes Studio Exam is run by famous architects who make expert conclusions on the projects submitted’.
