Representatives of the University of Minho and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia gave talks at SPbGASU

On February 28, Professor José Matos from the University of Minho, President of European Association on Quality Control of Bridges and Structures (EuroStruct), Vice President of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (Portugal) and Viviana Sossa Arancibia, teacher at the Department of Resistance of Materials and Structural Design of Buildings and Facilities of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain) visited SPbGASU.

✔ At a meeting with the CEOs and teachers of SPbGASU, the parties informed each other about the structure and educational process at their universities, their participation in international scientific and educational cooperation, exchanged plans for scientific events and agreed to sign a cooperation agreement between the University Minho and SPbGASU.

According to representatives of the SPbGASU Faculty of Civil Engineering, during the meeting a number of areas for mutually beneficial cooperation were identified.

During the visit, Viviana Sossa Arancibia made a presentation on her current research on application of GPR for detecting pathologies in reinforced concrete, such as corrosion, and José Matos gave an open lecture for students and professors of SPbGASU on "Quality Specifications for Roadway Bridges in Europe: Overview of COST Action TU1406".
