SPbGASU at the International Week for Erasmus+ Program Coordinators

The International Week for Erasmus + Program Coordinators took place from June 17 to June 21, 2019 at the SPbGASU partner university - Madrid Polytechnic University (Spain). Participants shared their opinions, established new contacts, made agreements on cooperation.

Nearly ten Russian universities, as well as universities of Greece, Slovenia, Poland, Bulgaria and other countrie, took part in the large-scale event. Each university had the opportunity to make a statement, show a presentation and express their desire for cooperation.

Svetlana Petrova, Head of the International Cooperation Department, represented SPbGASU. Together with other participants of the International Week, S.N. Petrova visited training classes, laboratories and campuses of the Madrid Polytechnic University.

The SPbGASU representative established new contacts with the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and the Technical University of Poznan (Poland).

S.N. Petrova also held talks with the directors of the School of Architecture, Construction School and Mining School of the Madrid Polytechnic University.

The cooperation agreement between SPbGASU and the Polytechnic University of Madrid was signed in November 2018. Since then, the universities have been intensively cooperating, and a large work plan was outlined for 2019.

According to S. N. Petrova, international cooperation gives students great chances to broaden their horizons.

A student who studied for a semester at another university has an advantage: they received experience in adapting to different conditions, communicated with native speakers. As for teachers, this also is an opportunity to share best practices. Participants of the International Week hope to create a network of Russian universities for cooperation with foreign partners.

“It was a very efficient trip,” S. Petrova concluded.
