SPbGASU reported on the progress in the SAFECON Project

Work on the SAFECON Project is going on. Its aspects were discussed at a meeting with Finnish partners, which took place at SPbGASU on August 27, 2019.

This was a scheduled working meeting of the participants of the project, the implementation of which began in 2018 as part of the “Russia - Southeast Finland 2014–2020” cross-border cooperation program aimed at creating an innovative environment for safety education in construction

The main objective of the project is the instilment of a behavioral model of employees in the workplaces and responsible behavior of leaders in the organization of works

At the meeting, the university was represented by vice-rectors Irina Lugovskaya and Irina Belova, head of the Technosphere Safety Department and SAFECON project manager Vitaly Tsaplin, and specialists of the Scientific and Educational Center for Labor Protection in Construction, a structural unit of SPbGASU.

Saimaa University of Applied Sciences (Finland) was represented by the head of the delegation, instructor Leena Jormalainen, laboratory head Mikko Ruotsailainen, project administrative manager and financial expert Anni Liikainen, project communication manager Tarja Kovalev, teacher Paula Kokko, and senior teacher Anya Liimatainen.

WHAT WAS TAKING PLACE AT THE MEETING

The meeting began with a visit to the facilities intended for the Smart Labor training ground, which is being created at the university’s educational base in Krasnoye Selo. The partners could see that the areas for the ground are almost ready. Then, a working seminar took place, at which various issues of the organization of the project were considered and an overview of the development of interactive training material was conducted. Specialist of REC TCD O. Shakshak made a presentation on the ongoing work on the development of the computer training program application.

The next stage will be the purchase and placement of interactive learning modules, computers, and everything that is necessary for the organization of the educational process. After that, SAFECON will admit the first students.
