On April 27–29, the Moscow State Technical University named after N. E. Bauman held the III stage of the All-Russian Student Olympiad on Life Safety, the winners and awardees of which became students of the SPbGASU Faculty of Automobile and Road Building.

45 students from 15 universities of six Russian regions took part in the Olympiad. The SPbGASU team led by Associate Professor of the Department of Technosphere Safety Elena Smirnova included a second-year master's student Lada Tokareva (captain), a first-year master's student Ivan Solomatin and a fourth-year undergraduate student Tatiana Dyleva.

✔ The content of the theoretical tasks corresponded to the state educational standards and the federal state educational standards of higher professional education (GOS VPO and FSES VPO) on life safety.

For the first time, SPbGASU students competed in the Erudite contest, which tested their general knowledge of technosphere safety: Ivan Solomatin took first place, and Lada Tokareva became second.

Besides, the participants were offered a written activity containing questions and tasks, to answer wich they had one and a half academic hours. According to the organizers, this year's tasks were the most difficult in the history of the Olympiad. According to the results of the written activity, the SPbGASU team took the third place, Ivan Solomatin became the third in the individual competition.

As part of the Olympiad, it was also required to complete homework in the format of a student scientific project. In a tough competition, the SPbGASU team took third place.

The team leader Elena Smirnova was awarded a diploma of an expert judge.

✔ According to Lada Tokareva, the Olympiad turned out to be quite difficult: many strong teams participated. Nevertheless, it was a good exchange of experience.

✔ According to Ivan Solomatin, the tasks were not easy, but the captain Lada Tokareva remained confident in success and encouraged the others. Ivan notes that the Olympiad gave a useful experience of speaking in public, interesting communication with colleagues in the specialty.

✔ Tatiana Dyleva participated in such a competition for the first time, so she was very nervous and carefully prepared. The student is sure that the team performed well.

The Olympiad significantly increases the interest of students in the direction of training "Technosphere Safety", and for teachers it is an opportunity to discuss the problems of the direction, to share experience. On the one hand, this is a very tense and exciting event, on the other hand, a holiday of like-minded people.
