Additional information

In 1994 Elena Baulina graduated with honors fr om the Department of Urban Planning of the Faculty of Architecture of the Leningrad Institute of Civil Engineering. Immediately after graduation, as a reward for excellent studies, she was accepted into the St Petersburg branch of the Union of Architects of Russia.

In 1995–2002 worked as a staff architect of the Valaam Monastery. The main workplace was the courtyard of the monastery in St Petersburg, wh ere she carried out projects to adapt the premises of the courtyard, as well as a number of works together with the Spetsproektrestavratsiya Design Workshop. In the process of research work, in order to recreate the lost architectural details of buildings, she formed the archive of the courtyard. She took part in restoration work in the central estate of the monastery and the Transfiguration Cathedral as a representative of the customer, carried out supervisory work during excavations on the territory of the central estate, carried out the necessary design work for the current repair of the objects of the monastery.

In 2003–2007 Elena Baulina studied at the postgraduate course of St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the Department of History and Theory of Architecture, continuing to do research on the formation of the architectural appearance of the Valaam Monastery and the history of architecture of the "Russian style".

Since 2007, Elena Baulina has been an employee of the Department of Architectural and Urban Planning Heritage. Constantly supervises final qualifying works of bachelors and masters. Many of her students are winners of all-Russian and international architectural competitions, as well as international competitions for final qualifying works.
