The Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering closed the IX International Scientific and Practical Conference "Information Modeling in Construction and Architecture" (BIMAC-2026), held from 27 to 30 April. The conference once again became one of the largest industry platforms, bringing together representatives of government agencies, the professional community, educational organizations, and software developers to discuss the digital transformation of the construction industry.
BIMAC-2026 featured nine specialized sessions dedicated to various areas of application of modern digital technologies:
- plenary session "Digital twins in construction and architecture tasks";
- session "Digital restoration of cultural heritage objects";
- estimate session;
- transport session;
- session "Realities of application of information modeling technologies";
- session "Artificial intelligence in construction and architecture tasks";
- session “Seamless education in the field of information modeling technologies (school-college-university-employer)”;
- session "General issues of application of information modeling technologies";
- session "Digital technologies in construction".
More than 110 speakers participated in the conference, including leading industry experts, government officials, software developers, and representatives of scientific and educational organizations.
The conference focused on the implementation of information modeling technologies, the development of domestic software, the digitalization of construction processes, the use of artificial intelligence, and the preservation of cultural heritage sites using modern digital tools.
One of the key topics of the business program was digital restoration of cultural heritage sites. Participants discussed the use of laser scanning technologies, the creation of digital twins of historical buildings, the formation of digital archives, and the development of a regulatory framework for working with cultural heritage sites.
A key component of BIMAC-2026 was the development of cooperation between the university, government agencies, and industrial partners. Six cooperation agreements were signed during the conference:
- A cooperation agreement with the Leningrad Region Urban Development Policy Committee is timed to coincide with the launch of the "Digital Revival of Architectural Heritage Sites of the Leningrad Region" project and is aimed at developing practice-oriented student training using information modeling technologies;
- agreement on the establishment of a corporate department with WIZARDSOFT JSC;
- cooperation agreement with the company OOO RUSEKO-STROYPROEKT;
- cooperation agreement with RangeVision LLC;
- cooperation agreement with the company LLC "GIP GROUP SOLUTIONS";
- An agreement on the provision by Nanosoft Development OOO of assistance in the implementation of higher education programs in the specialties and fields of study necessary for carrying out activities in the field of information technology.
One of the conference's key events was the exhibition "End-to-End Technologies in Construction and Architecture," which showcased domestic software solutions and equipment used at various stages of the capital construction lifecycle. Participants were introduced to information modeling technologies, VR and AR solutions, laser scanning, additive manufacturing, and unmanned aerial systems.
BIMAC-2026 also included a digital lecture series, where representatives from leading companies shared their experiences in applying modern digital technologies in design and engineering surveys with SPbGASU students.
Particular attention was paid to the educational agenda. The conference featured project defenses by participants in the III All-Russian TIM-Championship of SPbGASU. SVE League 2026, which brought together students from 11 colleges from various regions of Russia. The participants developed comprehensive projects for multi-apartment residential buildings using information modeling technologies.
An awards ceremony was also held for the winners and runners-up of the "All-Russian School TIM Championship of SPbGASU 2025/2026" school Olympiad. More than 20 students in grades 8–11 from eight regions of Russia participated in the final stage of the Olympiad.
On 28 and 29 April, a professional development program, "AI Engineer in Construction and Architecture," was held as part of the conference. Twenty-five participants attended the course, including university professors and employees of design and construction organizations.
A key event on the business program was the roundtable discussion "Application of Domestic Software," organized jointly with the Northwestern Federal District Construction Industry Consortium. Participants discussed the industry's transition to domestic digital solutions, software integration, and the development of a unified digital environment in construction.
An additional platform for professional networking was an intellectual quiz in the format "What? Where? When?", organized by Anastasia Kiryushina, author of the Telegram channel "Let's manage #BIM." Fifty people in six teams participated in the game.
BIMAC-2026 was made possible thanks to the participation and support of industry associations, the professional community, and industrial partners.
The key role in organizing the conference and championship was played by the National Association of Builders (NOSTROY), the National Association of Designers and Surveyors (NOPRIZ), the Northwestern Federal District Construction Industry Consortium, and the OsnovaProekt SRO Association.
The conference's business program was developed with assistance of RUSEKO-STROYPROEKT LLC, Atomenergoproekt JSC, ARSITIM, Vysotsky Consulting LLC, IndorSoft LLC, Credo-Dialog Company LLC, and MIDAS LLC.
The partners of the "All-Russian TIM Championship of SPbGASU. SVE League 2026" competition were Renga Software LLC, WIZARDSOFT JSC, ASCON Group, Nanosoft Development OOO, SiSoft Development LLC, and Larix LLC.
The exhibition "End-to-End Technologies in Construction and Architecture" was attended by ROMBIT LLC, UAVProf, GIP VISION, WIZARDSOFT JSC, and RangeVision.
The conference's media partners included Kodeks, Sovremenny Dom magazine, the Helpinver portal, Spektr Global LLC, the Telegram channels "Prosto o Smetakh" and "Let's manage #BIM," and BIMSERT. The conference organizers acknowledged the significant contribution of the St Petersburg Construction Committee's portal "Stroitelny Petersburg" for providing informational support for the BIMAC-2026 events.
Participants of the All-Russian SPbGASU TIM Championship. SVE League 2026 took part in tours as part of the "St Petersburg Through the Eyes of an Engineer" project. Participants were delighted to learn about the city's iconic landmarks from the perspective of engineering solutions.
BIMAC-2026 once again confirmed SPbGASU's status as a key platform for professional discussions on the digital transformation of the construction industry, the development of information modeling technologies, and the training of next-generation specialists. Next year, the conference will celebrate its anniversary with the X International Scientific and Practical Conference BIMAC.
